"The Walk"

Painted in front of almost 1,000 people at the 2025 Heartfelt Gala, “The Walk” is a tribute to loved ones lost and our journey through life. 

Heartfelt was born from the deep grief of Founder, Bridget Sakr, who lost her daughter in the Oatlands car crash in 2020. The charity exists to support others experiencing the kind of loss that can be just as crippling as any illness. 

I was inspired throughout the night as I listened to the stories told about the impact Heartfelt had on people's lives that felt alone during such hard times, and were provided with the support they needed to rebuild strength, courage and hope. 

This artwork honours those that have passed. I used bold colours to reflect the ups and downs we face in life: the love, the heartbreak, the moments of peace and pain, and the belief that this life isn’t the end. That one day, we’ll be reunited with those we miss.  A colourful past, and a glimmer of hope for what’s still to come.
